5 little pumpkins

Song:  5 little pumpkins
Source:  songsforteaching
Origin:  unknown
Grade level: preK and up
Rhythmic elements: steady beat, rhyming
Movement: counting fingers, hands on face for "oh my", fingers in air for witches, wags finger for we don't care, arms pumping for run and run and run, thumbs up for reading for some fun, big gestures for wind woshing, clap for out went the lights, and then roll arms when the pumpkins roll away.
Connection to curriculum: rhyming onomatopoeia

Words:
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, "Oh my it's getting late."
The second one said, "There are witches in the air."
The third one said, "But we don't care!"
The fourth one said, "Let's run and run and run."
The fifth one said, "We are ready for some fun!"
Then OOOhh OOOhh went the wind
And out went the lights
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
